Casualty Book No 4. QOR 2nd Bn - Book, Record

Large hard cover leather book covered by grey cloth. Title printed in black on spine. Additional sticker on spine reads "Casualty Book 1919". Contains list of Soldiers discharged and killed in action in alphabetical order divided by letter tabs along right side of book. Information includes service company, full names, date of enrollement, discharge, and remarks. At the front of the book there is a supplimentary "Seniority List of Officers at Headquarters Toronto". Faded "17" written in white on front cover.

Off white framed certificate. Certificate has blue octagonal seal in top left corner. Addressed to Lieutenant Colonel William Smith Durie, appointed to Lieutenant Colonel in the 2nd Battalion of "Volunteer Rifles of Canada". Paper on back explaining original writing has been gone over with pencil to make it more legible.

Pewter plate with hat badge in centre presented to J.G.K. Strathy, Colonel of the Regiment from All Ranks of the 2nd Bn. on the occasion of the farewell parade marking the reduction to nil strength of the Battalion. Plate is set in wood for hanging on wall.

Silver Snare Drum - 2017/06/08

100th Anniversary 1960s Silver Snare Drum. 13.5 inches in height and 15.5 inches in width. Made by George Potter Musical Instruments, Aldershot, UK and drumhead from Ludwig Drum Co Chicago USA. Upper and lower rim made of wood with top green and bottom scarlet, Sides of silver with 8 screw attachements made of silver and the Battle honours, allied Regiments and the Regimental Capbadge embossed on the front of the drum. At the back is a Silver leg rest in the shape of a U. Top drum skin intact but bottom is broken.
