Photo of Ernest T. Wingate with caption: Joined the Regiment, October 1893. Rose through the ranks and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 1902. Subsequently promoted to captain in 1914 and received the Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long Services Medal in 1917. This Court Sword, a mid-Victorian example has a QOR badge engraved on it and dates to circa 1875. Donated to the museum by Alan Wingate in 2003 in memory of his father Ernest Turquard Wingate."
